What to See, Eat, Shop & Do on a 5-Day Family Trip
Traveling with a young child can be a challenge, but also one of the most heartwarming experiences.
In July 2025, my wife, our 4-year-old daughter, and I flew to Guam for a 4-night, 5-day vacation—our daughter’s very first trip abroad.
With its calm beaches, child-friendly resorts, and compact layout, Guam turned out to be the perfect family destination.
Here’s a full recap of our itinerary, food adventures, shopping hauls, and precious family moments.
We left Incheon Airport at 6:20 PM and arrived in Guam around 12:30 AM.
After clearing immigration, we took our pre-arranged hotel pickup and checked into our resort in Tumon.
No sightseeing on the first night—just snacks from the ABC Store and a much-needed sleep!
We started the day with a calm walk along Tumon Beach and a short morning splash in the hotel’s kid-friendly pool.
๐ Lunch Highlight: [PROA Restaurant]
Guam’s most famous BBQ spot—delicious, tender meat platters. Our daughter loved the rice and grilled chicken!
In the afternoon, we headed to Micronesia Mall, where our daughter had fun at the play zone while we shopped for clothes and gifts.
๐ด Dinner at IHOP was a safe and satisfying choice. Pancakes for her, and steak & eggs for us.
We finished the day with a relaxing walk along the lively streets of Tumon.
Our morning started with a visit to the iconic Two Lovers Point.
The ocean view from the cliff was breathtaking, and we hung a small love lock as a family tradition.
In the afternoon, we joined a family-friendly yacht tour.
We saw dolphins, enjoyed the breeze, and even did a bit of light snorkeling!
This was probably our daughter’s favorite part of the trip.
We rented a car and explored the southern side of Guam.
๐ฟ Stops included:
Inarajan Natural Pool (safe for kids!)
Yokoi’s Cave – a bit of history
Talofofo Falls – jungle vibes and nature shots
๐ Lunch at [Jeff’s Pirates Cove], a beachside spot with killer burgers and refreshing root beer.
๐️ In the evening, we visited Kmart for souvenirs, snacks, and some essentials before heading back to rest.
Our last full day was all about shopping!
We spent the morning at Guam Premier Outlets (GPO)—snagged some good deals at Coach and Crocs.
Then we wrapped up our trip with a visit to the ABC Store for macadamia chocolates, coconut oil, and magnets.
✈️ That night, we packed our bags and went to bed early for our early morning flight.
We left for the airport around 4:30 AM.
Tired but happy, our daughter fell asleep the moment we got into the taxi.
By 8:20 AM, we were in the air, heading home with unforgettable memories.
